Do good

Interesting book by David B. Berman, Do Good Design: How Designers Can Change the World, which serves as a call to action to designers everywhere to stand up, take our seat at the boardroom table and start changing the way the world looks at design. The end goal is to demonstrate the positive and negative power of communication design.

On a personal note, as a designer, it’s always nice to sit down and just enjoy what the pages have to offer. But when you realize how much of our visual and information planes are littered with bad design, you should do something. Take the Do Good Pledge.

Icelandic’s answer to Snuggie

You’ve seen the commercial for the Snuggie blanket-with-sleeves, right? It makes you look like a monk and it comes in all these yucky colors. Now, look at what the Icelandic knitgroup Vík Prjónsdóttir came up with. Nice geometric lines, they are like a fashionable bear suit. Very adorable!!

I found 1001 rules for my unborn son while browsing aimlessly and spent the next half hour reading and forwarding it to my friends. It’s quirky, entertaining and honest. Squeaky’s Marketing Associate, Jacob Ramos, shared it via Twitter and told me he got quite a few responses for that post. So here it is. It made me grin  and I hope you find it charming as well.
