The End is Near Robot

Adorable robot created by Philadelphia-based artist Larry West. You just want to hug him… but not too hard or he’ll fal apart right in front of your eyes.

The Grid System

The Grid System is a resource in grid systems, compiled by Antonio Carusone (check out his LegiStyles).

Why I love it? I always love grids, especially in prime numbers above 3. Preferably 7 or 11. I don’t use them as religiously in interactive design but it is still affecting how I view a design’s overall look-n-feel. (It’s probably because it was drilled into the deepest crevice of my left brain by years of “gridding.”) It’s like balance vs. off-balance vs. off off-balance.

I used to always tell my students, “Either you’re exactly on or you have to be totally off. Not ‘kinda off.'” Because it gives you the same exact feeling of a phantom itch.

And I don’t like phantom itches. Who does?

Unemployed Stuff: To-Do List

Jacob shared this note with me this morning. Not to poke fun of people (including some of my friends) who fell under the job-cut guillotine, it makes me smile because I know most of my designer friends are procrastinating over-achievers with A.D.D.

(I have to make a note to myself to remember to mention that to them.)
