A nod to Casey Reas & Ben Fry

Casey Reas has a minimalist site that showcases his beautiful computational artwork. Checkout the Orchestrated Perception, interactive installations and the Tissue Collection: Who knew data visualization can look so good you can wear it?

A little background info: Reas initiated Processing.org with Ben Fry during their MIT Media Lab days.

As for Ben Fry, I’ve always had a crush on his brain, ever since I laid eyes on his Paper Airplane from his Carnegie-Mellon days. Checkout his work, from the Genome projects to his personal work (see Civilian Casualties in Iraq).

Supersmart people, these two. Hmm… (contemplating what went wrong with my brain…)

Honda Insight: Superb!

The way Honda Insight – Let It Shine video interacts with its Vimeo surrounding is superb. You have to watch and enjoy the creativity. Thinking outside the box indeed. Love the sun glare at the end.

Cursebird

This is funny. It’s a lot more amusing ways of enjoying what people tweet about, which as you can see, are mostly rubbish and a waste of servers/braincells/time.

Marina Rinaldi goes live

After months of collaboration with MaxMara’s team in Reggio Emilia, Italy, we at Squeaky can finally breathe a collective sigh of happiness at the birth of the first-ever Marina Rinaldi website. I’m a proud mama!

Current favorite food sites

  • Delicious:Days – nicely laid out and beautiful, fresh photography. Round thumbnails add a nice touch.
  • Serious Eats – covers a lot of grounds, with it’s sister-sites Slice, A Hamburger Today, SE: New York and Photograzing.
  • Recipe Star – the site aims at “making you rock at cooking”. Who wouldn’t want that? Plus, I love the Bacon Quiz section.
  • Waitrose – this UK’s version of FreshDirect has sections on food & entertaining with a hefty resource section
  • PointClickHome – from Elle Decor and Metropolitan Home, has some very appetizing food photos.
  • Kraft food & family – surprising new section from the trusted brand. Very nice & robust.
