2010 REBRAND 100 Winners

You read that right! I’m on the cover of a magazine. Well, my infamous namesake that is. 🙂 Eat Your Heart Out, Imelda cover is part of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County’s award-winning rebranding initiatives.

See all of Rebrand’s 2010 Winners. The Before and After transformations are doses of inspiration!

A Brand for London

Today, during a logo design process for a new brand, I was about at the end of my wits in trying to communicate what I visually see in my head to my designers. In my process of figuring out how to show them how to explore the visual brand, I remembered this A Brand for London blog: A very nice journal on thoughts / processes / explorations in creating a new brand for London. Take a look at the pitch as well. (However, they didn’t win the account.)

Done by Moving Brand, you should check out their work and process. See Full Programme for  some impressive case studies.

Now designers, get back to work!

BirdBox Alarm Clock App

BirdBox is definitely a cute app, turning your iPhone into a cuckoo alarm clock that chirps and cuckoos. Its website sells the birdbox to a physically turn your iPhone into a nesting box alarm clock, all in a mobile-friendly layout. The best part: It’s done using iProcessing, an open programming framework to help people develop native iPhone applications using the Processing language.

To find out more info and download the examples, see luckybite.com/iprocessing/. Two cuckoos to Tom Hulbert and LuckyBite!

Get Out: Le Film

Get Out movie is hillarious. Nice surprise ending. The best part: It’s a school project by a group of ESMA students (!). Yes, students.

Check out the other movies as well. Wow!

Type: Strangelove

Inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove, the Strangelove typeface is designed by Pablo Ferro for one of the coolest type foundries out there: HypeForType. Lots of super nice typefaces. Check out this type ident they created to celebreate the launch of Neuforma type family.
