Valentine’s & Chocolate

For the fast-approaching Valentine’s Day, AXE Dark Temptation is giving guys tools to be “Eternally Irresistible.” Yes, it’s a leisurely spin on the romantic obvious-to-most-but-not-all guide and e-card, and we’re proud of it.

What’s sweeter? It’s featured on Creativity Online.

Of course, I have to list cool chocolate brands I’ve come across while browsing at Wegman’s in upstate NY.

Scharffen Berger — nice packaging!

NewTree — super cool combo flavors & names. And you have to checkout the color on its Chocolate Room. Delectable, right?

Chokola’j — nice paper/ribbon orange & bronze packaging. And for Valentine’s Day gift, checkout the artisan chocolates. Love detailed food art!

By the way, I am not a chocoholic. Just love nice packaging!

Best mushroom dish to date

Went to the Royalton Hotel last week and sat at Brasserie 44 with friends for drinks and some grub. Decided on the wild mushrooms and was so glad. That side dish was super good. The full description is “wild mushroom stewed in riesling emulsion.” Yumm!

Sauteed Wild Musroom

I’ve been thinking of cooking that all week. Maybe I’ll do it tomorrow for a nice weekend of relaxing with a nice glass of wine. The closest recipe I found is from the Barefoot Contessa of Food Network: Sauteed Wild Mushroom, even though I’m sure it needs to be roasted a bit for a nice smokiness.

TrailFoods.com picked by CommArts

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Enertia Trail Foods site that Squeaky launched last week is going to be featured by Communication Arts as a Web Pick of the Day on Tuesday, March 3. Besides the new label that Squeaky designed to signal their partnership with ColemanĀ®, Squeaky also positioned Trail Foods as a premium meal specialist for outdoor enthusiast with a sense of community where users can share stories.

Word(s) of the Day: God’s Gravy

Wiki entry:

1) Gravy is a sauce made often from the juices that run naturally from meat or vegetables during cooking. It is a smooth, non-chunky liquid. {I’m already laughing at this point…}

2) “God’s gravy” is a term used for juices naturally emanating from meat joints during roasting served unadulterated as gravy. {I guess it’s the combination of the words “meat joints” and “unadulterated” that just brings the giggles. Yeah, I know, it’s silly but I laugh anyway…}

Bacon is on the rise

First I thought it was just me finding all these bacon-related sites, but then I saw Tina Roth Eisenberg’s Swiss Miss‘ post:

My coworkers thought I was crazy but oh yeah, bacon is everywhere:

Bacon of the Month Club from Grateful Palate

Save Our Bacon campaign from Waitrose, UK.

And of course, BAC’N.com
