About
My name is Imelda Suriato. I’ve been designing long before I set eyes on a PowerMac 6100 in 1993. It started when I was still in elementary school. My first client: My father. Drawing logos for my father’s business venture and continuously refining them by tracing another set on top of the original one was how I revised designs based on “client” feedback. And yes, he was particular. But the whole process was exciting. Looking at typography (before I knew what this letter style thing is called), colors, composition, I was fascinated and still am.
Now I am the creative director at Squeaky Wheel Media in NYC, working on great projects with awesome people, which I will eventually share with you on this blog.
Why this blog? Aside from working on design concepts, information architecture and usability, I love sending random messages via IM to my coworkers of things I found on the web or anywhere that are very amusing. Gladly, other people found them amusing as well or they’ll just think “oh, it’s just one of those things Imelda does…” which is fine by me. Hey, everyone is a different cup of tea, right? Most people laugh at what I sent them so I should keep track of them because most often I lose them. So, why not post them somewhere. That’s why I thought I should start this blog. The WordPress was downloaded a while back and it was just sitting there in my sandbox waiting for me to do something about it. Well now I’m doing something about it. I hope you enjoy it.
