Palm Trend Tracker, etc.

As a non-blackberry-carrying person, I haven’t really checked anything from Palm for a while. Not their products, not their site. Then I saw Palm Trend Tracker ad in Notcot.org and I was happily surprised! Nice little touches surrounding the nicely done infographics with JavaScript talking to Flash. Looks grown up but friendly and a bit Zen-like.

Then I decided to check out Palm.com and more surprises… I like it!

The nice blurred background effect, the fade-in slide menu in the Shop section… even the smart little toggle on the Search button. All this with no Flash.

On top of all that, they’re in Bryant Park during NY Fashion Week, previewing the new webOS Palm Pixi in a space inspired by one of the limited edition Artist Series.

They even go so far as having a “Runway War” Facebook app to vote on best-dressed celebs in Bryant Park that week. Now, that’s a little much.

Best bit on Facebook:  Letting the fans post whatever comments, from nice to a little mean (like “this phone is a piece of shit!“) . Thumbs up, Palm!
